Living Stone Concrete Design Co. was founded in March of 2006 by Jon McCoy. Since childhood Jon has been creative and artistic. In 1994, Jon came to the mountains of Western North Carolina to serve the low income and elderly families in Western North Carolina through home repair mission, with ReCreation Experiences. While volunteering with reCreation in the summers and doing historical renovation in the Montford community in the falls and winters, jon found a passion for not only impeccable craftsmanship, but also a passion for working with people.

In 1997, Jon became a full time employee with ReCreation Experiences and began sharing his desire for serving people by teaching inexperienced youth and adults how to complete renovation projects by working and serving together for a common goal. After several years, Jon became part of a large high-end marble and granite fabricator in Western North Carolina and found a new passion for creating amazing art with natural materials. He found a love for working closely with clients and turning their homes into works of functional art.

In November of 2005, Jon attended a training workshop in Berkeley, California, given by Fu Tung Cheng in which he learned how to design and fabricate quality concrete countertops, but this was just a taste of the possibilities of concrete inside the home. A new passion was born. Over the next several months jon began exploring the possibilities and educating himself on the latest technologies in concrete and concrete countertops. He has traveled throughout the southeast for training on different techniques of countertop fabrication. In August of 2006, Jon graduated from The Concrete Countertop Institute and is now sharing his passion with Western North Carolina, through Living Stone Concrete Design Co.

Jon is committed to providing the highest quality concrete countertops & elements while staying at the top of the market through networking with leaders in the industry and continuing to learn new and better ways to serve his clients.

Living Stone is working very hard to reduce the amounts of raw materials in their products, we are currently below 20%. We also use recycled materials in our concrete, as well as, only using sands and aggregates from within 100 miles of WNC.
